Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania
We were so excited to have a felted soap class with Cortni for the Girl Scouts!
What is felted soap? You take a bar of soap and wrap it in multiple layers of dyed fiber and then felt it by manipulating the fiber until it is matted and adheres to the surface of the soap.
Why use wool and not a washcloth? Wool is a natural, antibacterial fiber, so you don’t need to worry about mold or mildew. It also makes a great exfoliant and prolongs the life of the soap. Once you use all the soap, the wool will have felted down into a neat scrubber to clean other surfaces like the shower.
The best part is that it is fun to make and use! The Girl Scouts had a wonderful time, and left with their hands sparkling.
Seats are starting to fill up for our January class, so go online to reserve your seat! Mark your calendar for Saturday, January 11th, from 10 am till noon. See you there!!!
